Country is integral to the entire worldview and culture of Aboriginal people.
What does it mean for Aboriginal artists and curators, historians and writers to create on country? How might this shape their work? How should audiences, both Indigenous and non-Indigenous, respond to expressions of country in creative works? And how might we all co-create in this place, acknowledging country and the world's oldest living culture?
A panel of creatives will discuss their practice and what it means to them to create on country and also represent their country through their work.

Public history shapes our communities’ understandings of the past. This series will explore the issues that stimulate and bedevil the work of public historians. This seminar series aims to encourage a more reflective approach to the practice of history and create conversations across a diverse cohort of practitioners. All welcome.

Presented by Professional Historians Association (NSW & ACT) and Oral History NSW.
